Four Different Options for Burying Cremated Remains

Once the cremated remains of the deceased are handed over to the family members, there is also a question as what can be done with the cremated remains. Well, burial of cremated remains is an option that best of the people prefer. If you want to bury cremated remains, you have a number of options for how and where to bury the remains. With cremation, you actually have more choices for a final resting place as compared to a typical earth burial.

Burial in a cemetery

You can buy some space at a local cemetery for burial of the cremated remains. While burying the cremated remains in a cemetery plot, memorial prayers and religious rites can even be performed at the graveside. Once the service is over, you can also choose to mark the location with a grave marker or monument. As cremated remains need less space as compared to the burial of a body, most cemeteries allow the burial of cremated remains of multiple people in the same plot. When purchasing a plot in a cemetery, be sure to ask for a full price list of all immediate and future charges.

Burying cremated remains in a private plot

Some families may choose to keep the ashes of their departed loved one and hence prefer to bury the cremated remains in their private property. Different regions of the country have regulations about the burial of ashes in a public properly, but in general it is allowed if the burial is done in a private property. For this kind of burial service, arrangements can be made without the need to involve a Funeral Director. However, it is highly recommended to follow the Health and Safety legislation applicable in the area where you reside. If you wish you can also plan a graveside ceremony in conjunction with the burial. Once the process is over, you can mark the area with a marker or monument. In the market, there are a wide variety of markers and monuments available to serve as a lasting tribute.

Burying cremated remains in an urn garden

Nowadays, many cemeteries or memorial parks have special area dedicated for the interment of cremated remains. This area is called an Urn Garden where you can bury an urn under the ground or opt for above ground memorial. Depending upon your budget and preference level you can inter the cremated remains in the landscape, such as in a large rock, in a bench, in a fountain, or in other landscape elements. If you wish you can mark the urn burial spot with a headstone or grave marker. Before making any final decision regarding memorialization, it is better to check the options offered by the cemetery or memorial park.
